WordPress.com Now Open to All
Michael Arrington at TechCrunch reports on an announcement by Matt Mullenweg ("Photo Matt") that WordPress, a highly customizable (not to mention free) blog publishing platform, has just become open to all who want to get an account.  Previously, the platform (which is still in beta testing mode) was available on an invitation-only basis.

So WordPress.com now emerges as a direct competitor to Blogger, MySpace, MSN Spaces, TypePad and other online blog hosting services.  If your business is operating on a tight budget, I highly recommend giving WordPress a try.  It's free, it's open source, and it's constantly being updated and improved.
