So, on to the news. Yahoo!, the Wal-Mart of the Web, has just bought the popular social bookmarking service called "Delicious" (del.icio.us). You can see announcements at the del.icio.us blog (so far with 300-plus comments attached) and at the Yahoo! Search blog (also with dozens of comments).
Now that Yahoo! owns del.icio.us and Flickr (the super-popular photo sharing service), it could potentially dominate the market in terms of where people go to bookmark, share, review and discuss texts, websites, photos and more. For business bloggers (here comes the moral of the story), I think this will mean that Yahoo! is now even more important to watch than before. If you own a corporate blog, you should consider how to use Yahoo!'s services to expand your corporate poularity and enhance your image. (Of course, your competitors could also use Yahoo!/del.icio.us/Flickr tags and feeds to watch your business like a hawk.)
So what do you think Yahoo's "delicious" purchase means for business bloggers?

Yahoo underpays their workers? Forces unions out? Fires people for union activity? Runs a 200 year old business concept? (retail)? has multiple lawsuits against them? Gets sued for being unable to protect people when on their property?
I certainly wouldn't compare Yahoo! to Wal-Mart.
