Business blogging tips and news for professional bloggers

Niall Kennedy over at the Technorati Weblog posted yesterday about a nifty update to Technorati's pinging service.  The post is short and sweet, saying that Technorati now enables logged-in members (an account is free) to ping Technorati (that is, notify Technorati that their blog has been updated) for all of their blogs with a single click.  The new ping page also tells you the last time Technorati visited your blog.  This can help you know whether your blogging software is automatically pinging Technorati.

Niall recommends setting up your blogware to automatically ping T'rati every time you publish a new post.  Business Blog Wire, for example, uses Movable Type to automatically ping Technorati.  (Maybe I should explain all that in greater detail sometime.)  If that doesn't work, you can always visit the Technorati ping page and send the ping yourself.

Let me know what you think of this time-saver from the premier blog search engine.  Personally, I think businesses could benefit by implementing automatic pinging in this way.  Even the smallest corporate blog deserves some good Web exposure for free!
