A recent post by professional blogger Darren Rowse on his typical blogging day left me thinking about my own daily blogging habits. Of course your particular responsibilities are different from his and mine, but I think you could learn something new from what Darren has to say.
Darren mentions that it typically takes him hours to go through his email and RSS feeds - actually, he often spends all day coming back to these two time-consuming items again and again. I thought I was the only one! But whatever works best for you in terms of productivity, I say, do it.
If you are thinking of becoming a full-time blogger and quitting your current job (or perhaps vice-versa), I invite you to read about Darren's average blogging day. It might cause you to think seriously about whether you are prepared to dedicate yourself to a long, grueling effort to profit from blogging.
More on my typical blogging daily efforts tomorrow.
In the meantime, I have a question for you: How easy/hard do you think it is to make a full-time living from blogging alone? Why?
