Business blogging tips and news for professional bloggers

UPDATE - Jan. 2, 2007 - I've added lots of details to this post, as promised yesterday. 

Happy New Year, everyone!  2007 - wow. 

I promise to flesh this post out tomorrow with the full blogtipping trimmings.  For now, I want to at least mention the three blogs I've decided to tip this month.  Please forgive the rush.

As promised, here's my full blogtipping post for this month.

My January 2007 Blogtippees:

1. ConsumerGeneratedMedia.com by Pete Blackshaw

- Fabulous, original, well-written content.

- Great prioritization of your sidebar elements.   I love how the most important stuff is up at the top.

- Great use of links and images to enhance your content. 

Tip: I don't even know how to do this, but I was looking at your blog on a monitor with a 1920-by-1200 resolution and noticed that there's lots of white space on either side of your content.  Is there any way you can stretch it wider?  That might make it easier on some readers' eyes.

2. Hyde Park by Joel

- Love the logo and the name, and how they tie in together.  Even your tagline fits well with the theme. 

- Hilarious and insightful writing.  James Brown and Gerald Ford really do seem to be spookily related. ;)

- Clean, simple look to the blog. 

Tip: Maybe put your blog description ("A discussion of speech writing," etc.) higher up on the right side - like right up at the top underneath your tagline.  It might help first-time visitors figure out just a bit quicker what your blog focuses on.

3. Turn Your Blog Into Money Making Machine by Ruben

- Fantastic use of keywords - I'm sure it helps boost your traffic via search engines.

- Upbeat tone and you promise lots of benefits to your readers - this pulls us all in and makes us motivated to listen to you.

- Nice subscription box at top right.

Tip: Maybe your blog's title is the way it is for keyword reasons - but I personally think it would flow better if it was "... A Money Making Machine" instead of "... Money Making Machine."
