August 28, 2007.
I brood on the couch. The cool night air lifts the gentle refrain of crickets through gently billowing curtains, but fails to soothe.
My nervous fingers batter black buttons on a silver box in my lap as I try to form a question for the world before sleep conquers me.
Darkness ...
August 28, 2057.
I rest on the floor. The windows and my eyes are shut, but my aged mind stirs.
Thoughts and ocular gestures whisk my old writings before me. Love those eye implants.
2011, 2010, 2009 ... I slowly browse to a halt.
August 28, 2007. A question tapped into a silver box that night flashes against my eyelids:
How will what you publish on the Web today affect things 50 years from now?
A wrinkly grin spreads across my face as I remember how you answered that question so long ago ...
Vision makes all the difference.

You bet it does. Without vision, you are flying in the dark. :)
