1. Write magnetic headlines. (takes 2 minutes)
2. Link to your older posts in every post. (takes 1-5 minutes)
3. Link to other blogs in every post. (takes 1-5 minutes)
4. Use social media sites like StumbleUpon, Digg and Newsvine for 15 minutes a day. (takes, um, 15 minutes)
5. Put compelling photos or videos in your posts. (takes 1-5 minutes)
6. Ask people to subscribe to your feed (nice job, Krissy!). (takes 1 minute)
7. Put a link to your blog in your email signature. (takes 2 minutes, one time)
8. Publish posts consistently - e.g. twice every weekday morning. (takes 15 seconds to remember to schedule post publication times properly)
9. Email a popular blogger and ask them to link to a great post you've published. (takes 2 minutes)
10. Mention Britney Spears in your post headlines. (takes 3 seconds)
Just kidding. Here's my real #10:
10. Ask your readers to leave comments and answer every comment with an email. (takes 10 seconds to ask, 30 seconds to answer)
Total time needed: about 26-38 minutes a day. If you're really stingy, skip #4. You're down to 11-23 minutes a day. Add a teeny amount of time per additional post. Subtract a bit over time as you make these an automatic part of your blogging. Subtract a teeny bit since you won't need to do all of these things in every post or every day.
Piece of cake.
What do you think are the easiest ways to increase your blog's traffic?
