We will now discuss Question #21 of 200 blog review questions to help you improve your blog and review blogs. The Ultimate Blog Review Guide e-book covers all 200 questions in detail.
Blog Review Question #21: How memorable is the blog's homepage URL?
You CAN succeed with a hard-to-remember blog URL like keyword-keyword-keyword.example.info or www.example.com/keyword-blog/blog/, but remember how fickle both memory and Web users' minds tend to be.
One of my favorite domain naming techniques is to think of a relevant word and tweak it just a bit - Performancing, Remarkablogger, Instapundit, etc.
If at all possible, put your blog at example.com or example.com/blog or maybe blog.example.com, and try to avoid other variations. At the least, make it so that when people type those variations in their browser address bar or otherwise attempt to visit those URLs, they get redirected to your blog's homepage.
Shorter typically is better.
InstantDomainSearch and AJAX Whois are two excellent domain name finding tools.
