Some say it's wrong to apologize for not posting to your blog for a long time. Many also say it's important to be honest on your blog about what you think and feel.
So I'll go against some and say I'm sorry for leaving you postless for so long, dear Business Blog Wire reader!
Today is Blogtipping Day, as is the first day of every month. It's a great moment for me to get back in the blogging saddle and share with you three interesting links, along with my compliments and tips for each blog.
Our blogtipping victims (beneficiaries) this month all have to do with professional blogging.
Blogtippee #1: Blog Network Watch
1: The layout is odd - in a good way. I like the big headlines and hugely obvious indented quotes.
2: Nice, frequent use of images.
3: A variety of interesting, relevant news.
Tip: Stir up some reader comments by saying something controversial or linking out to other blogs more.
Blogtippee #2: Marketing Gorilla by Greg W. Hoffman
1: Love the name and logo.
2: Smart, catchy headlines.
3: Rapid-fire,info-rich posts.
Tip: Make your "about" info more prominent.
Blogtippee #3: Semi Pro Blog
1: Positive, cheerful tone.
2: Unique "I Have a Question" area at top right. Turns readers into conversants.
3: Fresh Pakistani perspective.
Tip: Flesh out your logo.
… And that's my February 2007 blogtipping effort. Pardon my rustiness!
If you'd like to go blogtipping, it's not too late - you can either do a quick blogtipping post to start off February, or you can wait until March 1st. (Or buck tradition and just do it whenever you want.)
The way I typically blogtip is, I pick three unsuspecting blogs and think of three compliments and one helpful tip for each one. I whip that up into a blog post and presto - blogtipping cake for you to savor.
I also like to post a blogtipping roundup during the first week of each month to help blogtippers and blogtippees (and everybody else) get to know each other and learn about excellent blogging. If you go blogtipping, let me know about it and I'll link to your blogtiiping post in the monthly roundup.
Here's to an excellent February for you!
