As part of making this blog HOT (Herculean, Outgoing and Timely) in April 2007, I've promised you a post every Tuesday offering corporate blogging news.
Tonight, we'll look at recent announcemens made on the official blogs of YouTube, Twitter and Joost.
YouTube Corporate Blog Announces Citizentube
On April 5, The YouTube Blog announced Citizentube, a new political video blog (vlog) meant to "add fuel to the revolution that is YouTube politics." The announcement was exciting, if predictable, and spiced up what has recently been a disappointingly mundane corporate blog. Few media analysts doubt that YouTube and similar video sharing services will have a significant impact on the 2008 U.S. presidential elections, among others.
Speaking of YouTube … Know More Media is having a little fiesta of sorts with YouTube this week - each blog author is trying to tackle YouTube from his or her particular niche business angle. So this post represents my viewpoint as a business blog analyst. For other neat riffs today, learn about:
- YouTube business travel videos
- YouTube and politics
- How to write better Web video
- YouTube video marketing
- Increasing your brain power through YouTube
- Don Imus on YouTube
- Customer service on YouTube
- China and YouTube
- Debt collection on YouTube
- YouTube and cyberbullying
Anyway …
Joost Corporate Blog Announces Joost Beta, Tweaking
The Joost blog published two especially interesting posts in the last week or so: 1) a new Joost beta testing round announcement and 2) a Joost video quality improvement discussion.
In case you haven't seen Joost - it's incredible. Bascially it's a free program you download that lets you view tons of TV shows and videos for free. I tried it a bit the other day and really enjoyed watching a couple of National Geographic specials. The video was almost DVD quality.
Twitter Corporate Blog: API Updates, John Edwards, 911 Calls
The Twitter blog has been the most active of the three covered in this post - not surprising given the nature of the service (enabling conversation and communication through rapid-fire bursts of text goodness). The past week has seen posts on new Twitter API updates, the future of 911 calls, and an example of politician John Edwards using Twitter to clarify policy.
Feeling YouTubed? Joosted? Twittered? Me too.
